MacuShield is a dietary supplement derived from the marigold flower that combines the three macular carotenoids: Meso-zeaxanthin, Lutein and Zeaxanthin.

The purpose of this project was to develop an educational animated video, focusing on the ingredients in the core MacuShield formulation (lutein, meso-zeaxanthin, zeaxanthin) without making direct claims about what the product can do.

The strapline for the MacuShield brand is “Trust the Science” and the video provided a scientific overview of how the carotenoids amalgamate at the back of the eye.

The video was utilised in optician waiting rooms, Amazon, Boots.com, the MacuShield.com website and YouTube and is in full use today. We also created shorter, snappier versions of the animation to use across social media and Amazon.
